The so-called "EMBAT" is the prevailing wind in Bahía de Pollensa from April through September, already starting gently in March if the weather is more spring-like and warm. It is usually a light to moderate wind, between 10 and 18 knots in strength, very steady and with few gusts. It typically appears around midday and lasts well into the afternoon. It is also important to know that this wind does not appear in weather forecasts — only with good local knowledge you can anticipate whether it will be a good EMBAT day or not.
In Pollensa Bay there is usually wind EVERY DAY, even if it does not show up in the forecast. In fact, it has happened many times that people on holiday in Mallorca who know how to kitesurf, wingfoil, or windsurf only call us to rent equipment on days when there is a strong wind forecast — which does not happen very often during the season. What most people don’t know is that we have INCREDIBLE wind days without any real forecast, all thanks to the EMBAT.
We recommend that you contact us and we will tell you how the EMBAT is shaping up, so you don’t miss a single day of great wind!!!
