With enough passion and patience, pretty much anyone can learn to kiteboard. Our lessons are designed to take you from your first discovery class right through to advanced riding or even rinding a hydrofoil.
Pollensa Bay is one of the best places to learn to kitesurf for several reasons:
1- Moderate soft winds between 10-18 knots
2- Sandy bottoms and shallow water
3- Very low waves
No, you can choose from our 3 different modalities; group lesson, semiprivate lesson or private lesson.
This is a common misconception for lots of people. Altough you look as if you're holding the kite with your arms, the kite is actually hooked to your waist via a comfortable harness. your arms are there to guide and control the kite direction. So no, no strong arms needed!
This is another common question we get asked. Kiteboarding, like any sport, has its potential risks. For that reason, we have meticulously planned our kiteboarding classes to highlight and prepare our students for any potential dangerous situations. Modern kite technology has advanced dramatically and has several safety releases to avoid accidents. Fortunately, when kitesurfers are well taught and conscientious or their surroundings, they can avoid putting themselves and others in harm's way, reducing the probability of risk by 95%.
We will always recommend the semi-private class, where you do not have to share the material with any student. It is a little more expensive than the group class but much cheaper than the private one. It is worth it. However, if you want to adjust your budget, group classes also work perfectly. However, if you want to learn on the fast lane, private lessons are the best.
Due to the thermal winds from the bay of Pollensa, classes usually start around noon and last until the afternoon at 7 pm. Anyway, this is not a fixed rule, but an average.
We will move the class to another day that suits you. If you could not take another day and you had already paid the class in advance, the full amount of the class would be returned to you
We say someone becomes a rider when is able to ride consistenly up wind. The average to get to that stage is 10 hours, some students need more and some others less hours.
It is essential that you bring sunglasses. Especially the warm months (May-September), the sun can be very uncomfortable for classes.
It is also essential to bring sun cream for your face. It is not necessary to bring booties as we have a sandy bottom, although nothing happens if you want to bring some booties.
